Innovative new products from VPhase Smart Energy Ltd have been installed in over 50 of Croydon Churches Housing Association’s (CCHA) homes. VPhase VX2 and VX5 are high specification voltage optimisation units which are suitable for both new build and refurbishment installations.
CCHA have been looking at various ways to reduce their residents’ energy bills as part of their involvement with Sustainable Homes and SHIFT. This entails looking at the energy performance of their housing stock, as well as their commitment to reducing the number of residents in Fuel Poverty in their business plan.
“CCHA wanted to try voltage optimisation as part of a collection of improvement measures we are installing in our properties to help reduce energy bills for residents,” explained Craig Humphrey, Operations Manager at CCHA. “By working with our trusted, long term partners, Axis, we decided to install VPhase as their product was the lightest and smallest model on the market.”
As one of the country’s leading providers of maintenance and refurbishment for social housing, Axis Housing co-ordinated the installation of the VPhase units. Over a period of one month, either a VPhase VX2 or VX5 unit was installed in 57 CCHA homes.
Marc Powney, Contract Manager for Axis commented, “Our electrician teams were able to install them easily and quickly with no disruption to residents’ energy supply. The only change residents should see are lower electricity bills.”
Due to the success of this project, CCHA and Axis will continue to work together, to install further VPhase units into properties and communal areas.
